Draslovka is pleased to announce our partnership with Jubilee Metals Group PLC at their copper operation in Zambia. Our patented GlyLeach technology was used to recover copper from low-grade, historical tailings and achieved a recovery rate of more than 70%.
Leon Coetzer, CEO of Jubilee Metals stated:
“Jubilee continues to challenge industry norms by breaking through technical barriers and implementing solutions that extract value from materials and ore sources that were previously regarded by others as waste or too complex. Our Zambian strategy is grouped into two categories of copper materials namely unprocessed copper waste from mining activities and historical processed copper tailings. Our growth in each of these categories of copper materials is independently driven. I am particularly excited by the roll-out of our copper processing modules specifically targeting the copper waste materials while our technical team continues their work to unlock the copper value in historical processed tailings using Glycine Leaching Technology.”
Ivor Bryan, Chief Technology Officer of Draslovka Mining Process Solutions, commented:
“The partnership with Jubilee Metals, a major company in the tailings recovery space, highlights the significant potential for Draslovka’s leaching products to be used for mining waste management. Jubilee Metals’ business model aims to tackle the vast quantities of tailings containing unrecovered valuable metal. GLT can assist where demand for critical metals that are integral to the energy transition, such as copper and cobalt, outstrips supply. Draslovka’s technology is an important tool to ensure the mining industry can fill this gap and deliver on society’s needs.”
We look forward to working with Jubilee Metals to unlock further value from their tailings in the future.
