The historically low effectiveness of Cobalt and Nickel extraction has left mines with high volumes of tailings from which no further metal could previously be recovered. With GlyLeach™, it is now possible to recover the majority of this material's metal – turning waste rock into an asset.
GlyLeach™ is a revolutionary metal leaching process that can be used to selectively leach base and precious metals, even from previously non-viable deposits. It’s an environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative to acid leaching that provides more targeted and efficient leaching at a lower cost. GlyLeach™ also enables a simpler leaching process because it eliminates the need for smelting and shipping concentrate between facilities, with Nickel sulphate produced directly at the mine site.
Because glycine is a more selective lixiviant than acid, almost no non-target metals like Magnesium or Iron are extracted in the process. Glycine is also easily recovered and recycled, reducing processing costs even further.

Improves the rate and extent of recovery.
Alkaline leaching process that does not extract any unwanted gangue minerals or metals.
Simple process to improve metal recovery.
With GlyLeach™, copper oxide production is significantly improved by replacing acid with a non-toxic, food-grade reagent. This unlocks significant new production from previously unviable deposits.
GlyLeach enables production from tailings, as well as the production of higher purity metal from nickel and cobalt sulphide deposits - at a lower cost, and in an environmentally friendly way. GlyLeach™ or GlyAmm™ could be used based on the ore, grade and conditions.
